The Rotary Club of Oviedo is one of over 35,000 Rotary clubs world-wide that comprise one of the world’s leading service organizations, Rotary International. Along with providing an avenue for collaboration among business-minded people, Rotary Club of Oviedo strives to serve the community it calls home.
In Oviedo we have established a record of service projects that build upon the history and needs of our town. As such, we are fostering the wellbeing of our region as well as our nation and our community. Here are some of the many service activities the Rotary Club of Oviedo has undertaken in embodying the Rotary spirit of “Service Above Self.”
Adopt-a-Road, removing roadside trash and helping keep our community looking good.
Delivering “Meals on Wheels” throughout our community.
Installation of community heritage sign at the historic Lawton House.
Responding to the needs of others with seasonal food baskets.
Assisting elderly and individuals with disabilities through home improvement projects.
Awarding scholarships to college-bound students and grants to community organizations.
Donating a community clock to public spaces at Oviedo on the Park.
Staffing Salvation Army kettle collection sites at the holidays.
Establishing “Little Free Library” sites
Donating holiday gift boxes to disadvantaged children in impoverished countries.
Supporting Rotary International worldwide health causes including eradication of polio, establishment of clean water and sanitary conditions in rural locations and responding to international disasters.
